  Other organizations act in the same way. What is unusual about the Watchtower is they claim to be honest CHRISTIANS. They do this in an attempt to take the moral high ground as if they are the moral lighthouse of the world.

  Other organisations also try get the moral high ground but not many try to do it on the basis of getting back to Jesus Christ's original teachings.

  Poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote Christabel. It was a story about a vampire. The Watchtower only pretends to be Christian. Really it suck people’s lives and energy away from them (to build their property empire). When looking at the history of the vampire stories I found this quote:

  I can believe it. Watchtower sucks people's lives out of them so there is a cross over there with the Dracula Soc. They have a lot of expensive properties in London but to do them up they need labour. Labour is expensive but if you can get people to willingly give up their time and energy to turn them into palaces and sell them to rich people you have assets that are worth more than gold. You have the lives of men and women,

  The Watchower media company is just a business. If you want to make a lot of money, set up a religion. Its a business.

  Jesus said, "you recieved free, give free." (Matt 10:8). And he included healthcare in that. Mind you his healthcare what a lot more effective than what we currently have.

  is there a difference ?

  i believe so ,and a very big difference.one that harmonises with the new testament in bearing witness to jesus and his kingdom and one that amounts to a new gospel bearing witness to jehovah and his kingdom something that is condemned in the bible.. c.t.russell started the magazine called "zions watchtower and herald of christs presence" and its emphasis was on bearing witness about jesus christ and his kingdom ,of course he got many things wrong ,but he was focused on jesus & his kingdom with what the new testament is all about.. j.f.rutherford in his wisdom decided to change the heading of the watchtower to " the watchtower announcing jehovah`s kingdom" a phrase / term / doctrine that is not in the new testament and takes away the importance and role that jesus christ has in bringing people to god.phil.2:9-11. nowhere in the christian greek scriptures / new testament are followers of jesus christ instructed to be witnesses of jehovah ,nowhere there is not one scripture that instructs them to do so.. however in the christian greek scriptures / new testament there are over twenty scriptures whereby christians are told to be witnesses of jesus.. and it was by divine providence that followers of christ were to be called christians .acts 11:26 , not jehovah`s witnesses.. do jw`s even know what it means " by divine providence " ?.

  the jw`s use isaiah 43:10-12 an old testament scripture to justify calling themselves jehovah`s witnesses,however that was applied to the israelites back then ,did they adopt the name jehovah`s witnesses ?

  JoenB75 - that is SO funny. I've got this picture in my mind's eye of all these angels trying to bump-start the planets by pushing them.

  Also it reminds me of a daft picture in one of the mags I saw. Seven angels struggling to blow 7 trumpets. It was like they didn't have enough breath to make even one of the trumpets squeek.

  You should have asked your father if they were allowed to count their time. Or were they just getting their time started by setting up a whopping great clock?

  I just remembered, years ago (in 90s) a bro told me about a talk which said all the angels had probably been involved in creation. He said the different qualities of each creature, plant or whatever, probably reflected qualities of the angel that designed it.

  I had never heard such a view before and just found his expression interesting. But if they were doing talks like that, then Jesus would be relegated to just another angel doing his little bit.

  I never felt comfortable viewing Jesus as the Archangel Michael - I could see their reasoning. Yes of course Jesus would be the head angel. But Jesus is referred to as the Son of God. Even Adam could be referred to as the Son of God but not in the way that Jesus was. Jesus Christ has a very special position.

  this was a comment from the meeting(tm) on sunday.. the person that told me about it, is very confused about the validity of the corporation.

  somewhere between a pimo and a pimi-lite.

  the thing that angered me was that this person has cancer.

  Elders come up to publishers who are suspect and ask, "is everything alright?" They ask it and keep asking it. The minute you express doctrinal or child abuse concerns you are probably on your way out. EIther that, or you will have your privileges clipped.
  

  Yes, this is their new way.

  But there are still some who get away with doing exactly what they want. But they don't stand up for what is right. They are just super rich and/or well connected.

  By taking the name Jehovah's Witnesses they link themselves to the House of Jacob.

  It is clever. By attacking them, you could be accused of anti-semitism.

  Jesus as the Messiah certainly was the greatest from the House of Jacob. People don't think that anti-semitism means attacking Christians. But once you bring Jesus into the equasion, when you attack the faithful ones of the House of Jacob, you are attacking those who point to Jesus Christ.

  Maybe one of their next tricks will be to encourage people to pay for unreal real estate. It will make them feel good as they make their monthly payments/donations - like paying a mortage for a Watchtower house; a house which is just around the corner.

  Hey Waton at least they've got a tenancy. Next year's Days Text might relegate them to tourists. They might only get a time-share on a log cabin.
